Pierrepont Fitness Club is offered to grades 4-6 and gives students the opportunity to get active and have fun once a week after school. Upon checking in, students will begin walking laps in the gym/outdoors while using a pedometer or their own fitness tracker. They can walk with their friends and enjoy some active, social time after ending their busy day. Each mile will be recorded on an excel spreadsheet which will be shared on Google Classroom. Our goal is 100 miles each!. Some students may walk and some students may run, but they all have fun! The Pierrepont Fitness Club is designed so that each student can feel successful and be proud of accomplished goals. Every week the miles completed will be logged via "Billion Mile Race Club” by Ms. Mahoney. Through this organization, we will accumulate miles and become eligible to win rewards!

Pierrepont School Intramurals–Tennis, Basketball and Volleyball!!!

Sixth grade students may sign up for after-school throughout the year until intramurals. Activities will run on random days 3:45pm. A physical is required to participate. Students may also use their primary physician. The Mr. Ray Roig Tennis Tournament is a single elimination boys and girls tournament sponsored by our Pierrepont PTA. Matches will begin in October and may run until November. Basketball intramurals will be coed and run rom late December through mid-February. Volleyball intramurals will be co ed and run from mid February through May.

TREP$ is offered to grades 4-6 and gives students the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship while developing their own business/products.  Each week, students will work towards developing their business/products with the support of their classmates and club advisor. The program will end with the TREP$ Marketplace, which is a flea market set up with kids behind tables, featuring products they are selling.  With this club, you have a chance to make some money!

Chorus is a voluntary co-curricular activity. Each grade will have full and section rehearsal each week. A detailed rehearsal calendar is available on the school website. After school rehearsals end at 3:45...full rehearsals are in the MPR with students being dismissed from the back door onto Pierrepont Ave. and section rehearsals are held in the music room (113) with students dismissed on to the Upper Field on the east side of the building. Concerts are held in December and May. Select Choir is an auditioned group of 6th graders who are part of the chorus and perform at the concerts. Their music is more challenging.

The Art Club is open to students of all levels in grades 4, 5 and 6. Students will explore a variety of media, from painting to 3-Dimensional work. Students will also have the unique opportunity to learn and to assist with set design for the school concerts and Pierrepont’s annual theatrical performance. Art Club will begin at 3:10 p.m. and will end at 3:30 p.m. Students will be dismissed from the art room and they will exit Pierrepont School from the main entrance doors facing East Pierrepont Ave. Please visit the Art Club link on the left for more information.

The STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) Club is designed for students to engage in problem solving activities while exploring aspects of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Students will use inquiry-based skills to work on various engaging, STEM related projects. TheSTEM club is designed to provide a fun, engaging, environment where students can work together to design, create, build, research, collaborate, and most important, have fun! Odyssey of the Mind is a creative minds competition. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. Pierrepont will have one team which consists of no more than seven students on the team (as per State/ National Guidelines from OOTM).

Rachel’s challenge was created in 1999 by the father of Rachel Joy Scott, who was the first victim of the Columbine High School shooting on April 20, 1999. The program was developed to continue Rachel’s legacy of creating a culture of kindness and respect throughout schools across the country. The club is open to any student wanting to engage in small kind acts with hopes of being part of a “chain reaction”.

The Green club is an environmental initiative designed to help reduce our carbon footprint and raise awareness for local and global issues concerning environmental topics. We work on various community projects as well projects that help our school become more environmentally friendly!
